Debra Ann Sarvela and the family and friends of Reverend William Sarvela
Rev. William Richard Sarvela, born in Massachusetts in 1932, was the son of Finnish Immigrants. He was proud of his Finnish heritage, and instilled that pride in his sons and grandchildren. He was a math teacher, an army veteran stationed in Iceland, and a Lutheran minister. His parishes were in Massachusetts, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (where he often preached in Finnish), and in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was married to Junia Lois Ollila, and they had two sons, Paul Douglas Sarvela and Mark Everett Sarvela. He loved God and family, valued
education and music, and believed strongly in helping the less fortunate and his fellow man.
