Debra Sarvela and Mark Sarvela

Debra A. Sarvela and Mark E. Sarvela wanted to honor the memory of Junia Sarvela by establishing a scholarship in her name.

Junia Lois Ollila Sarvela, daughter, wife and sister of Lutheran pastors, was born in Cloquet, Minnesota in 1936, part of a long line of Finnish Americans. Mother to Paul and Mark, she loved her children and grandchildren. She had a long and rewarding career as a speech therapist, became a certified massage therapist in retirement and had a passion for the zoo, especially giraffes.
