Dr. Walter G. Robinson, Jr. was a well-known educator, professor of black studies and historian. He helped begin the Black American Studies program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1968. He had a PhD in Social Work, as well as a doctorate in biblical studies. Dr. Robinson, Jr. taught at many bible colleges in the area and served as pastor of a historic church in Collinsville, IL.
