Dr. Harold R. and Mrs. Lana G. Bardo

Dr. Harold Bardo is a two-degree graduate of SIU Carbondale, a retired faculty member, and most recently, held the position of interim Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. Dr. Bardo received the university’s Lindell W. Sturgis Memorial Public Service Award in 2014 and that year served as Grand Marshal at SIU Homecoming.

Harold and Lana Bardo established the Harold and Lana Bardo MEDPREP Scholarship to provide assistance for students in the MEDPREP program. MEDPREP’s mission is to increase the numbers of underrepresented minority and disadvantaged students from southern and central Illinois who will enter and graduate from health professions graduate schools and who will serve in U.S. health profession shortage areas.
