Faye Minor Magill
Faye Magill is the namesake of the “Faye Minor Magill Family Food and Learning Center” at SIU Carbondale. It is marked with a bronze plaque in honor of her work in agriculture, food, and nutrition. Beginning in 1956, Mrs. Magill published a home-tested recipe column titled “Cookbook Caper,” that appeared in the Washington Observer and Reporter for 34 years and the Greensburg-Tribune-Review in Greensburg, PA, for nine years. During her career, Faye traveled extensively, visiting various well-known food companies, attending food conferences and consumer research seminars, and developing nutritionally sound recipes.
