Gola E. Waters, Ph.D.

The College of Business is establishing the Gola Waters Accounting Scholarship, in honor of Dr. Gola Waters.

Dr. Waters came to SIU Carbondale in 1965 as a lecturer with the Department of Management. He moved up the faculty ranks quickly, ultimately being promoted to professor. He has served in several leadership positions at the University, including Associate and Acting Dean of the College of Business and Executive Director of the SIU Foundation. Dr. Waters retired December 31, 1997.

Dr. Waters contributed to the College of Business through his commitment of preparing students for the competitive business environment. He also has contributed his generous support to the Accounting Circle, which ultimately placed him in the Henry J. Rehn Society, a prestigious giving society for the College of Business.
