Mark Taylor & Charlene Yandell

Donald Ray and Charlene Yandell represent the fullest expression of love for God, family, and community. D. Ray, as he was affectionately known, enjoyed a 39-year career as a math teacher, coach, and administrator. D. Ray, having earned bachelor and master degrees from SIU Carbondale, taught at Vienna and Buncombe Grade Schools, small rural educational institutions in Southern Illinois. Charlene was a devoted wife, homemaker, and mother. Married for 54 years, D. Ray and Charlene raised two wonderful daughters and were faithful members of Ozark Baptist Church. Their humility, kindness, and love enhanced the lives of many in Southern Illinois and gave a younger cousin, Mark Alan Taylor, role models to emulate.
