Mr. Harvey N. Michaels

The Harvey N. Michaels Business Scholarship was established by Harvey N. Michaels, who has a B.S. in Accounting and an MBA both from SIU Carbondale. Harvey is a member of the School of Accountancy Board of Advisors. His gift is in support of the first ever comprehensive campaign at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Time, talent and treasure describe the support that Harvey has provided to the College of Business at Southern Illinois University.

Harvey is the Regional Managing Director for Deloitte Consulting’s Mid-America region of the U.S. He has held this role since 2004. Harvey has been with Deloitte over twenty-seven years, having joined Deloitte in 1981 after completing graduate school and working at a large media research company.

Harvey has extensive experience in working with clients on issues directly affecting their success. He has eminence in the areas of financial transformation, operational excellence, dispute and forensic services arid large industrial insurance claims. While Harvey has worked advising clients in numerous industries, his main emphasis relates to energy and chemical clients. Also, he is currently the Lead Consulting Partner for Halliburton, Marathon Oil and Waste Management. He is a Certified Management Consultant and Certified Fraud Examiner.
