Mr. William E. and Mrs. Jacqueline H. Davis

The goal of the Victor Davis Memorial Aviation Scholarship is to help aviation flight and/or aviation management stdents at SIU Carbondale with their educational costs. The scholarship was established by Mr. Davis’ parents to honor his memory. Victor Davis was the President of the Black Aviation Association (now the Minority Aviation Council), a registered student organization at SIU Carbondale, at the time of his death in 1993. Victor’ s lifelong dream was to earn his Federal Aviation Administration flight certificates and then fly for a major airline. Victor was in the process of completing his commercial pilot certificate with an instrument rating when he passed away. Victor shared his dream with others through his work with the Black Aviation Association at SIU Carbondale. Faculty and students alike respected Victor for his professionalism and dedication in running the organization. In addition to BAA, Victor was also part of student government at SIU.
