Mrs. Dorothy Morris

The Delyte W. Morris Scholarship was established in memory of the former SIU President, who passed away in 1982. His widow, Mrs. Dorothy Morris, was equally as important in the history of Southern Illinois University. She was an honorary member of the SIU Foundation Board of Directors and received SIU’s first university-wide honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree in October 1988. Mrs. Morris’ numerous awards also include the SIU Distinguished Service Award in 1981.
