Mrs. Mary J. Chancey

The C. Ray Chancey Endowed Scholarship in Political science is intended to honor the memory of the late C. Ray Chancey who, for more than 30 years, was a major downstate leader in the Democratic Party of Illinois. Mr. Chancey held the position of Chair of the Jackson
County Democratic Party for more than 20 years. He continued to be active in the Democratic Party after retiring from the Chair position, until the time of his death in early November of 1994.
