The Friends and Family of Orville Alexander

Orville Alexander was a 1931 graduate of Southern Illinois Normal University and later served as the Chair of the Department of Political Science at SIU Carbondale from 1950-1969. He served an additional 7 years with the department before retiring in 1976. Professor Alexander also served as the University’s legislative representative in Springfield and is regarded as one of the founding fathers of the Southern Illinois University System.
