Willie Pearson, Jr., Ph.D.

Dr. Willie Pearson, Jr. would like to promote academic excellence in the field of sociology and to benefit students pursuing studies in sociology. After receiving his Ph.D. in Sociology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1981, Willie Pearson, Jr. moved into a successful career. He held an endowed professorship at Wake Forest University, and currently (May, 2002) he is Professor and Chair of the School of History, Technology, and Society at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
