Elizabeth Lewis Memorial Scholarship

The Elizabeth Lewis Memorial Scholarship was established to memorialize Mrs. Elizabeth Harris Lewis, the mother of Elizabeth Kamm. Southern Illinois University has been a major factor in the lives of the Lewis family and all of them were culturally enriched by having lived in the Southern Illinois University Community.

History of the Lewis Family and their connection to Carbondale and SIU

• Scholarship for a junior with demonstrated financial need who is a graduate from a high school in Jackson County, Illinois.
• Recipient can be a continuing student or an incoming transfer student from John A. Logan College.
• Continuing students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Incoming transfer students must have a minimum transfer GPA of 3.0.
• Moral and intellectual stability, evidence of kindness, sense of appreciation, interest in the welfare of others, moderation in habits and thriftiness manifested by the student applicant who should possess a genuine interest in SIUC.
