Patricia Pace Memorial Scholarship

The Patricia Pace Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Patricia Pace, a 1986 Ph.D. graduate of the Department of Speech Communication at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She also completed undergraduate and graduate work at California State University at Sonoma and at Northwestern University. Patricia died at age 48 while teaching at Georgia Southern University and after having taught at Louisiana State University.

She was a Carbondale resident, attended SIU University School, and graduated from Carbondale Community High School in 1970. She attended high school performance workshops conducted by Marion Kleinau at SIU during her high school years. Her dissertation was directed by Marion Kleinau. Ms. Pace was married to Richard Flynn, professor of English at Georgia Southern University.
