Ray Griffith College of Business Scholarship

Ray Griffith grew up on a farm around Fairfield, Illinois, and attended SIU where his brother was also enrolled. Having graduated from a high school with a total enrollment of 53, Ray was excited to leave the farm and introduce himself to the wide diversity SIU offered.

Ray is a 1975 graduate from the college of business and has been active in the business world for over 40 years serving as President/CEO for three different corporations. Ray enjoys golf, sports and is an outdoor nature enthusiast.

Cindy is from Herrin, Illinois and is a 1976 graduate of SIU with a degree in Education. Cindy was an SIU cheerleader and a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. Upon graduation, Cindy taught school and had a variety of other jobs until she became a stay at home mom to raise their two children. Cindy enjoys interior design, sports, country music and also loves the outdoors.

Ray and Cindy met at SIU and have been happily married for 41 years. They both remain passionate supporters of SIU and their beloved Salukis. They currently reside in Naperville, Illinois but are coming back home to Southern Illinois and are currently in the process of building a home in Marion. They feel blessed and proud to be able to make a small contribution to help enable a few to pursue their dreams at SIU.

• Recipient must be an incoming or continuing student in the College of Business & Analytics and must demonstrate financial need.
• Incoming students must have a minimum ACT score of 23, or corresponding SAT score, and continuing students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
• Recipient must also be a graduate from a high school in one of the following counties in Illinois: Alexander, Bond, Clark, Clay, Clinton, Crawford, Cumberland, Edwards, Effingham, Fayette, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Johnson, Lawrence, Madison, Marion, Massac, Monroe, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Randolph, Richland, Saline, St. Clair, Union, Wabash, Washington, Wayne, White, Williamson.
