Michael Giesing Bernard Scholarship

Michael Bernard was born in Chicago and grew up in Kincaid and Taylorville, Illinois. His mother, Yolanda, with her Italian roots, seven siblings, Papa next door, his brothers and eighteen cousins nearby motivated him to go to SIUC.

He is a 1970 graduate of the College of Business and holds a Masters from SIU with a concentration in College and University Business Affairs. His education helped him build a career in healthcare, working in administration at hospitals across the country, culminating in becoming President for the 10 hospital National Division.
