Elaine M. Vitello Ph.D. Leadership Award

The Elaine M. Vitello Ph.D. Leadership Award is designed to acknowledge exceptional leadership potential in the College of Health and Human Sciences. Selection on student’s commitment and dedication to leadership as indicated by service to the school, college, university and/or community, as well as career goals.

The Elaine M. Vitello Ph.D. Leadership Award has two components:

  • 1) a $500 annual scholarship award; and 2) a travel award worth up to $2,000 for the student to attend a national women’s leadership conference.
  • Recipient must be a junior or senior full-time student, in a major within the College of Health and Human Sciences.
  • Preference shall be given to a female applicant.
  • Recipient must submit a personal statement (maximum of 300 words) addressing each of the following: a) Outline of service and leadership experience to date; b) Career goals; c) How the Elaine M. Vitello Ph.D. Leadership Award will contribute to your professional development and career goals.
  • Applicants must also submit 1-2 letter(s) of support from faculty, staff or supervisors stating why the applicant should receive the award.

At this time, the Elaine M. Vitello Ph.D. Leadership Award is awarded through the office of the Dean of the College of Health and Human Sciences. If you would like to apply for this scholarship, please contact the Dean’s office to submit your personal statement and letters of recommendation.
