Judge James L. Foreman Scholarship

The Judge James L. Foreman Scholarship was established to honor the service of Judge James L. Foreman. Judge Foreman retired in May 2007 as a senior judge for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. Judge Foreman served on the federal bench for 35 years and during that time he was instrumental in promoting the School of Law by hiring graduates as law clerks.

  • Scholarship for an incoming first-year student enrolled at the SIU School of Law.
  • The scholarship may also be designated for a second or third-year law student in good academic standing at the SIU School of Law.
