Gateway Branch Student Scholarship

The Illinois American Public Works Association (APWA) Gateway Branch is currently accepting applications for their “APWA 2024 Scholarships” through October 25, 2024. They are offering three scholarships in the amount of $2000 each, in which will be presented and awarded to the qualifying applicants at their Branch meeting/luncheon held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in Edwardsville, IL. Applicants do not need to be present to accept the scholarship. For more information about the Illinois Chapter of APWA, please see below. All students considering a career in engineering/public works within the Gateway Branch region made up of the (12) Illinois counties listed below are encouraged to apply.

The American Public Works Association (APWA) is an international organization that focuses on public works services and goods. APWA’s membership includes over 32,000 individuals, agencies, and corporations from the public and private sectors who are interested in public works and infrastructure issues. The organization’s areas of focus include: Water and wastewater, Road maintenance, Traffic control, Snow removal, and Construction. APWA serves professionals in all aspects of public works—a fact that sets it apart from other organizations and makes it an effective voice for public works. This organization includes not only people from local, county, state/province, and federal agencies, but also private sector personnel who supply products and services to those professionals.

The Gateway Branch serves the Metro-East area of St. Louis and surrounding counties. The (12) Illinois counties that make up the Gateway Branch include: Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe, Montgomery, Randolph, St. Clair, and Washington.
