Margaret H. Steele Memorial Scholarship

The Margaret H. Steele Memorial Scholarship was established in honor of the memory of Margaret Steele. A teacher committed to the education of children, she taught elementary education in southern Illinois for 39 years.

• Awarded to an incoming transfer student who is majoring in Elementary Education. The recipient must be transferring from a community college with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (4.0 scale) from that institution.
• Awards will be renewed up to one additional year, for a total award of two years, as long as the recipient maintains a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
