Rosemary Bryant Memorial Award

The Rosemary Bryant Memorial Award was established by the late Mr. W. Douglas Bryant and is supported by the Beta Delta chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma in honor and memory of Mrs. Rosemary Bryant. A dedicated educator, Mrs. Bryant taught in the Herrin school district for seven years, first as a Kindergarten teacher at North Side School and later as an 8th-grade Language Arts teacher at South Side School. She was deeply committed to her students and passionate about education.

Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Bryant was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an organization that promotes the professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. She also served as chairman of the Missionary Union at First Baptist Church of Herrin, where she was involved in prayer groups and Sunday school leadership.

Her legacy as an educator and mentor continues to inspire future generations through this award, ensuring that her dedication to learning and service lives on.
