Recipient will be an incoming undergraduate student from the following Illinois public schools, in order of preference: Steeleville, Sparta, Chester, Carmi, or Trico. A secondary preference will be given to incoming undergraduate students first from Randolph County, and then students from White County.
Recipient must demonstrate financial need.
Recipient must be a full-time student. Recipient may be a class or credit short of full-time due to extenuating circumstances. Approval is at the discretion of the Scholarship Coordinator, SIU Financial Aid Office.
Preference to applicants that are incoming transfer students with junior or senior status.
If a transfer student with junior or senior status is not available, preference will be given to an applicant having a higher than state average ACT or SAT score.
Preference may be given to applicants demonstrating community involvement, or significant contemporaneous employment.
Scholarship will be renewable through the completion of the undergraduate degree, provided the student is making normal progress and maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
