Dennis Lyle Scholarship

In 2012, the Illinois Broadcasters Foundation established the Dennis Lyle Scholarship. Dennis started his career at WCIL-AM/FM as a radio announcer. Dennis’ role at the Carbondale radio stations grew from sales position, to sales management, general management, and then ownership of the locally owned stations.

Dennis and his wife, Paula, sold the station in the mid-1990s and he was hired in 1999 as the President/CEO of the Illinois Broadcasters Association. In 2008 Dennis was elected to the position of President of the National Alliance of State Broadcasters Associations.

• Scholarship for a full-time junior or senior majoring in Radio, Television, & Digital Media.
• The recipient must have demonstrated financial need, as determined by the SIU Financial Aid Office.
