The Zoology Summer Graduate Scholarship is intended to allow an outstanding student who would not otherwise have stipend support over the summer to continue work on the thesis-dissertation project during that time and accelerate progress toward the degree.
The scholarship will be awarded to one active graduate student who is enrolled for at least half-time status during the summer session.
Eligible students must be enrolled in the Zoology MS or PhD programs and have active (not continuing) enrollment status during the incoming Summer Session.
Candidates for the scholarship must be nominated by their major professor and may not hold a graduate assistantship, fellowship, or Dissertation Research Award for any part of the summer session.
Candidates may not be delinquent on any benchmarks required by the department and preference will be given in the following order: PhD candidates, pre-candidacy PhD students, and MS students. If nominated, students will be required to submit a complete curriculum vitae and a statement describing summer activities facilitated by the scholarship that accelerate progress toward the degree.
