George H. and Pamela J. Cook Finance Scholarship
The George H. and Pamela J. Cook Finance Scholarship was established by George H. and Pamela J. Cook in support of the first comprehensive campaign at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
George is a member of the Southern Illinois University, Carbondale (SIUC) College of Business Department of Finance Board of Advisors. He graduated from SIUC in 1973 with a BS in Accounting and a BS in Finance. He is a Certified Public Accountant. He received his MBA from Northern Illinois University in 1979 and his MST in 2003.
George began his career after he graduated from SIUC in 1973 with McGraw-Edison Company as Internal Auditor and left in 1984 as CFO. He worked as CFO from 1984 to 1989 with CR Industries and CFO from 1989 to 1994 with Boulevard Bancorp. He served as the CFO at MacLean-Fogg Company from1994-2018.
George has also been active on several boards. He is past president of the Financial Executives International, and board member of Maynard Manufacturing, Detroit; Presswerk, Krefeld Germany, and Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, Illinois where he was also chairman of the Finance Committee.
After completing two years of study at SIU, Pamela Cook entered the workforce for 5 years, after which she became a homemaker, raising four children over the next 20 years. Pamela then returned to her education, completing an undergraduate degree from Benedictine University, finishing with a Social Science degree from the College of Liberal Arts. In 2006, Pamela rounded out her education with a Masters degree from the School of Social Services Administration (SSA) at the University of Chicago. Pamela re-entered the workforce in 2008 and served as a therapeutic case manager for Jane Addams Hull House, assigned to a program for adolescent teens.

- Recipient must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.25 and be ranked in the top 20% of their high school class following the sixth semester.
