American Association of University Women (AAUW) The Karen Geenberg Mender and Builder Scholarship

Awarded to a female student currently enrolled at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) who shares the goal of ensuring an American population capable of fixing the broken and building the new and manufacturing the products to do both. The student will be continuing or entering fields of discipline such as automotive technology, aviation technologies, or engineering. In Fall 2025. Preference for this award will be given to students from the local area.

To apply, students must submit:
1) A letter, which includes information on their current and planned enrollment status, their major, scholastic and community achievements, their financial status relating to attending school, their connection to the local area, their Dawg Tag number, three contact references, and a statement of professional goals,
2) a current resume, and
3) most recent transcript

Winners will be announced at the Celebrate Women event on March 27 and will be guests of AAUW at the May 13 dinner and fellowship event.
