N.R.A.A. Jerome R. Lorenz Scholarship

The N.R.A.A. Jerome R. Lorenz Scholarship was established by the National Association for Rehabilitation Leadership to honor Dr. Jerome R. Lorenz. Lorenz and other faculty members at SIU Carbondale and DePaul University were actively involved in the creation of the National Rehabilitation Administration Association (NRAA) as a Division of the National Rehabilitation Association.

Lorenz and other SIU Carbondale faculty were killed in a plane crash in the mid 1980’s. In the late 1980’s friends and colleagues who were members of NRAA sought to reserve his memory as well as his vision of a field improved through applied research.

• Scholarship for outstanding graduate students majoring in Counseling and Rehabilitation Education.
• Recipients are strongly encouraged to submit at least one research article as principal investigator to the Journal of Rehabilitation Administration during the year in which the award is made.
