Poshard Foundation Scholarship

1. The Scholarship will be available to students who graduated from or attended Frontier Community College, John A. Logan College, Lincoln Trail College, Olney Central College, Rend Lake College, Shawnee Community College, Southeastern Illinois College, or Wabash Valley College and who attend or are planning to attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

2. The recipient(s) must be enrolled at SIU Carbondale.

3. The student(s) awarded this Scholarship shall have demonstrated successful academic performance by having at least an overall grade point average of 3.0 or the equivalent of a grade of B.

4. When possible, a minimum of two awards should be made. In the event that two or more scholarships are awarded in a year, the scholarships awarded shall be (to the extent possible) equally divided between under-represented minority and non-minority students and between male and female students.

5. Financial need should be considered and students should show a background of overcoming adverse personal conditions of abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment.

6. A student who held the Poshard Foundation Scholarship in a previous year shall be given preference in the selection process in subsequent years with all other things being equal.
