James B. and Rosemary Samuel Childress Scholarship
The James B. and Rosemary Samuel Childress Scholarship established by James and Rosemary Childress of Carterville, IL. They were married while Jim was going to Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Jim had a job at the post office in Carterville where he worked 50 hours a week while going to SIU. He remembers that he had to beat the mail truck home. Jim and Rosemary wanted to ease the financial burden of a business student with a scholarship to help pay for tuition, while the student contributes to his/her other college expenses, including fees, books and supplies, and perhaps living expenses.
