Linda K. Henson Photojournalism Scholarship

Linda Henson was a photojournalist whose career began with an intense interest early aptitude for photography that blossomed at the Daily Egyptian at Southern Illinois University. As a professional at the Peoria, Illinois, Journal Star newspaper, Linda’s award-winning photography captured the common and uncommon joys, triumphs, battles and sorrows of people in all walks of life.

The Linda K. Henson Photojournalism Scholarship is designed to support student photographers who plan a career in photojournalism. It seeks to recognize students with demonstrated photography skills, potential as dynamic visual journalists, and proven leadership skills.

• Scholarship for a student majoring in Photography, Photojournalism, or Journalism.
• Applicants should submit examples of their work, including a selection of photographs and a brief essay describing the applicant’s goals as a photojournalist.
