Haworth Family Industrial Technology Scholarship
The Haworth Family Industrial Technology Scholarship was established by James Haworth to assist students financially to attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale and to explore the opportunities available to students studying Industrial Technology in the College of Engineering. The Industrial Technology program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale allowed Mr. Haworth to further his education at a time when an Associates Arts and Science degree was of little value.
Mr. Haworth established this endowment in memory of his parents, Roger and Ann Haworth. Their financial sacrifices made it possible for him to attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The endowment also remembers the donor’s friend and mentor, Professor Carlyle G. “Corky” Ott.
